As fans prepare for Game 1 of the World Series between Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros, candy and collectibles firm Topps launched the non-expendable token (NFT) collection of the company’s 2022 NOW MLB postseason. The MLB Postseason NFT Collection will be released in three releases through the Topps NFT marketplace.

Topps Releases 2022 MLB Postseason NFT Collection NOW

Topps has introduced a number of NFT collections over the past two years and ahead of the upcoming World Series, the company released the 2022 Topps NOW MLB Postseason Collection. According to the collectibles company, the collection “selects the top 12 Topps NOW moments from each round of the MLB postseason and will be released in three releases.” The first release called the “Wild Card/Division Series Set” occurred on Tuesday, October 25.

On November 1, Topps plans to release the “Championship Series Set” and following that release, the company will release the “World Series Set” on November 10. “The MLB postseason is always an exciting time for baseball fans and we can.” Don’t wait to bring that excitement to digital collectors around the world,” said Tobin Lent, vice president and global general manager, Topps Digital. Lent further added:

“Throughout each round of the playoffs, fans can look forward to collecting the unforgettable moments that make postseason baseball so special, with broadcast-style and newspaper imagery unique to this digital collection.”

Topps NOW MLB Postseason NFT packs are $35 per pack and come with five cards per pack. Topps notes that there are 2,750 packs available and that 73.64% of the cards are “common”. 26.18% are “rare” NFT cards and 0.18% of digital cards are “legendary” items. Topps says that each MLB Postseason NFT card pack is guaranteed to provide at least one rare card.

The latest Topps NOW MLB Postseason NFT Collection comes at a time when NFT sales have declined considerably over the past year. NFT bottoms have also delivered tremendous value over the past 12 months. As far as the latest Topps NFT collection is concerned, the company says the “legendary gold design will highlight three key milestones from the 2022 regular season.”

“[The legendary gold design will offer] fans the rare opportunity to collect Aaron Judge’s 61st and 62nd home runs, as well as Albert Pujols’ 700th home run,” Topps explained Friday. The Topps NFT Collection Featuring MLB Postseason Athletes will be given away during World Series 118 beginning October 28 between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros.
