World-renowned rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg just dropped a song using their Bored Ape NFTs in promotional images, and the internet’s most active music nerd Anthony Fantano couldn’t help but roast this new track.
NFTs have found their way into almost all forms of multimedia, with the Bored Ape Yacht Club being one of the leading offenders. These digital assets are found in video games, have their own TV shows, and have been featured in several SoundCloud rap songs.
Two hip-hop legends, Eminem and Snoop Dog, recently have a single titled ‘From The D 2 The LBC’. The track was previewed during Ape Fest 2022 (an NFT-focused event), and its artwork and music video feature the rappers’ respective Bored Apes.
While the song’s lyrics never reference their NFTs, every other aspect of the piece is wrapped up in non-expendable overalls. Music critic Anthony Fantano had a few words to share with his fans about the Bored Ape-influenced track.
Fantano thinks Bored Ape’s song is “Not Good”
During his New Music Friday stream on June 24, Anthony Fantano reviewed Eminem & Snoop Dogg’s new single. Upon seeing the track, Fantano has a visceral reaction rubbing his head before hearing the first note of the track.
“Eminem and Snoop Dogg present a song for their Bored Ape NFTs,” Fantano declared before laughing at the words he had just uttered. “Let’s listen to these fucking bulls.”
Ten seconds later, following Eminem’s “this should have happened a while ago” line, Fantano chimed in. “No, this absolutely shouldn’t have happened a while ago! Honestly, I could wait 20 more years for this.”
He continued: “Nobody asked for this. I mean, the millionaires behind all this shady crypto asked for it, they paid you for it. But no one was like ‘man, you know what’. I really need an Eminem song about NFT’”.
After laughing while listening to the song, Fantano asked Siri how to remove a song on the internet and gave the song an official “Not Good” rating.
But as he always says, that’s just his opinion.
